ZCorum Adds VoIP Diagnostics to TechVizion Mobile App

(PRWEB) November 15, 2011

ZCorum announced at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo today that they have added a Voice Tab to their TechVizion app. TechVizion is the companys mobile app that provides current and historical cable modem diagnostics to technicians in the field. The new Voice Tab adds additional diagnostics and call quality scores that will help providers troubleshoot voice subscribers who are using an Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapter (EMTA). TechVizion works in conjunction with TruVizion, the companys popular web-based version of the software.

According to Scott Helms, Vice President of Technology at ZCorum, if a customer has voice service with the provider, the technician can simply touch the voice tab in the app to display information such as the line status, battery state and charge, as well as call quality metrics for the last ten callsincluding MOS scores and any delayed, lost or discarded packets. Our customers already love that they can query any device from any location, right on their smartphone or tablet, and immediately view current and historical RF stats. Now, with one tap they can also view VoIP diagnostics that are critical in troubleshooting voice calls when in the field. Helms says TechVizion is compatible with Android phones and tablets, as well as the iPhone and iPad.

While, the TechVizion mobile client has traditionally only operated in conjunction with the ZCorums Web-based diagnostics software, last week the company announced that it would work with MSOs to make TechVizion available to providers that have already made significant investments in their own Operational Support Systems (OSS), but who would also like a mobile solution for cable modem diagnostics.

Helms and other ZCorum staff will be demonstrating both TruVizion and TechVizion in Booth # 1801 at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 11 this week in Atlanta. Cable providers can also contact ZCorum at 1-800-909-9441 for more information.
