Dominion Dealer Solutions Be Back Mobile App Wins Award for Most Innovative Dealership Solution of 2011

Norfolk, VA and Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) November 01, 2011

Dominion Dealer Solutions Be Back Mobile App has been named the winner of the Most Innovative Dealership Solution of 2011 in the DrivingSales Innovation Cup Awards. The Be Back Mobile App was selected by a panel of dealers from a competitive field of solutions at the Third Annual DrivingSales Executive Summit (DSES), held at the Bellagio Las Vegas. Dominion Dealer Solutions is a division of Dominion Enterprises.

DrivingSales (http://www.drivingsales.com) created the Innovation Cup Awards, presented annually at the DrivingSales Executive Summit, to recognize solutions introduced or enhanced whose innovative approaches have produced significant results for dealers.

Its an honor for Dominion Dealer Solutions to be recognized as the 2011 Innovation Cup recipient, said Glen Garvin, group general manager of Dominion Data Solutions. This shows the continuing effort Dominion Dealer Solutions is making to move the individual brands to a unified, more innovative offering. The Be-Back App shows a commitment to be front and center in new automotive product initiatives by placing our focus on dealer-consumer engagement. The DSES conference boasts a literal whos who in cutting-edge automotive retail. We are so pleased to be in attendance and humbled by the award.

The Be Back Mobile App from Dominion Dealer Solutions can be downloaded through iTunes and is available for both the iPhone and Droid devices. The app is currently in development for the iPad as well. The Be-Back app is branded for each specific dealership. Once downloaded by the consumer, the application stores many useful pieces of information like the vehicles VIN numbers, mileage, service history and book valuations. The Be Back Mobile App notifies customers of inventory recalls or specials, and allows car buyers to view service schedules and owners manuals. Through both the iPhone and Droid, drivers can schedule service appointments with DMS integration, find local gas stations, and get parking spot reminders and loan calculators. The Be Back App truly becomes a consumers vehicle management tool complemented by the dealerships branding.

The local dealership owns this white-labeled application on the car buyers most important and useful asset their mobile device. Contact information in the application, service schedules and appointment setting increase fixed operations at the dealership. An equity alert shows the consumer how valuable their trade-in could be and alerts the dealer to the consumers interest in its equity.

The DrivingSales Executive Summit is designed to inspire dealers to push the envelope on innovation and to help them collaboratively uncover the actionable solutions and strategies that will move their dealerships forward, said DrivingSales Founder and CEO Jared Hamilton. The Innovation Cup, a centerpiece of the DSES, raises awareness of the vendor solutions that are moving the needle forward in dealerships across the country by allowing those who know best auto dealers to decide the finalists and winner. Clearly, the Be Back Mobile App is already making its mark and has impressed the hundreds of progressive dealers who attended the summit. Congratulations to Dominion Dealer Solutions and to each of our finalists!

Dealership solution-providers submitted applications online with vendor names removed, and a panel of dealers assessed each application. The Innovation Cup Award finalists presented their solutions onstage at DSES, with a panel of dealer judges scoring each solution. As the highest scorer, the Be Back Mobile App by Dominion Dealer Solutions won the Innovation Cup for Most Innovative Dealership Solution of 2011.

Each finalist and winners solution will also be profiled at DrivingSales.com and in the DrivingSales newsletter, and will be featured in a video interview at DrivingSalesTV. For more information about the Driving Sales Innovation Cup Awards, go to: http://www.drivingsalesinnovationcup.com/.

HairKutt Wins Audience Choice Award for Best Documentary at Independent Black Film Festival (IBFF)

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) March 22, 2006

HairKutt, independent filmmaker Curtis Elliotts award winning documentary about four friends from St. Louis, Missouri who travel to the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee in the hopes of curing one of them from the throes of heroin addiction, won the Audience Choice Award for Best Documentary at the Independent Black Film Festival (IBFF) held in Atlanta, Georgia March 12th-19th.

The griping documentary was one of three films up for the top overall documentary award (voted on by a panel of judges), which went to Programas, a riveting documentary about selected Brazilian prostitutes.

The movie was received very well, Elliott said about the showcase in Atlanta. He added the audience choice award was validation that he has an unpolished golden nugget in his filmmaking repertoire. The people spoke and they said of all the other documentaries shown in this particular film festival, HairKutt was the best one. (The award) was the peoples wish.

HairKutt is the Reel Life story of Bryant HairKutt Johnson, a heroin addict of more than 15 years. The documentary takes many twists and turns as HairKutt becomes so debilitated from the withdrawal of the poisonous drug that he walks away from the rented cabin used as a drug rehab facility to return to the streets of St. Louis (more than a ten hour drive away) and the source of his addiction: heroin.

The filmmaker, Curtis Elliott of Reel Life Films, is currently on an anti-drug campaign throughout the United States and Canada. He has already presented his message and film in cities such as Boston, Salt Lake City, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Santa Monica, California, Los Angeles and New York.

Targeting audiences from middle school to high school (11-years-old to 17-years-old) and college aged youth to young adults (18-25), Mr. Elliott continues to book the film in theaters, social organizations, at-risk youth group homes, rehab facilities, middle and high schools and universities in the aforementioned region of the world.

Enclosed is media information on the film, which won Best Social Documentary at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in Los Angeles in March 2005 and Best Documentary Feature at Cinema St. Louis' Independent Filmmakers Showcase in July 2005.

The film made its St. Louis debut in front of a crowd of 700 at the famed Tivoli Theater in the University City, (MO) Loop on May 12th, 2005.

Rasmussen College Wins Grand Prize In Global Mobile Game Development Curriculum Contest

Minneapolis, Minn. (Vocus/PRWEB) March 03, 2011

After being chosen as one of only 20 schools to advance to a second round of competition, Rasmussen College has been selected as one of three grand-prize winners of the Unity Mobile Generation Education Giveaway, a global contest designed to encourage educators to develop innovative course curricula for game programming and design for mobile and tablet PC devices. With this honor, the higher education provider will receive 20 Android smart phones, 20 copies of Unity Pro, and 20 licenses of Unity Android Pro.

We are honored to be named a grand-prize winner of an award that showcases our dedication to developing advanced curriculum for our programs, including the Game and Simulation Programming Bachelors degree, Rasmussen College School of Technology and Design Director Hap Aziz said. Our winning proposal combined programming design and theory with practical applications, providing students the hands-on experience that is critical to learning new and challenging programs, as well as becoming qualified professionals within their field.

Rasmussen College has established itself as an industry leader in online and on-campus education and offers a Bachelors in Game and Simulation Programming degree, or Game Design Degree, along with several other technology and multimedia design programs. Faculty members Thomas Long and William Sattelmeyer submitted the colleges winning proposal Mobile Game Development with Unity 3D, which integrated Unity Pro 3D with opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience developing high-demand simulations that employ built-in mobile device features, such as the compass, GPS, and accelerometer.

The demand for courses and degrees addressing game and mobile design has increased as Android encompasses 27 percent of national smart phone sales and iPhone sales expand with the companys new relationship with Verizon. A course curriculum that is centered on this rapidly evolving industry will give students a strong advantage in the expanding mobile development field.

Nominees submitted an example curriculum using Unitys Android game software and two accompanying video lectures. Rasmussen College was selected to advance to the second round of the competition in November 2010.

Will Goldstone of Unity Technologies, author of the first textbook on Unity 3D, noted that the Rasmussen College proposal demonstrated excellent understanding of course requirements, student needs, and development process, as well as an existing understanding of industry needs.

Headquartered in San Francisco and named one of the top five game companies of 2009 by Gamasutra, Unity Technologies has more than 200,000 registered users worldwide using its platform to develop high-quality, interactive 3D content for the Web, mobile, and console. Schools such as Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have adopted Unity technology into their curricula.
