Aperion Audio Announces New Surround Sound Speaker

Portland, OR (PRWEB) June 16, 2009

Aperion Audio, a direct-to-consumer manufacturer of award-winning home audio and home theater speakers, announced the latest in a series of new product releases this spring, the Intimus 4BP Bipole Surround Speaker at a price of $ 199, making dedicated surround sound more accessible to entry level home theater system buyers.

"In response to customer demand, we've introduced the Intimus 4BP to provide home theater and music enthusiasts with greater options in surround sound and affordability," stated Mike Hopkins, Aperion's Product Development Lead. "The Intimus 4BP offers flexibility in room placement while supplying wide sound dispersion and an impressive soundstage, all at a great price to our customers."

"The objective of a surround speaker is to create an enveloping, non-localized sound field. The 4BP's do this by using a bipole tweeter configuration that spreads the sound over a wide area -- all in an affordable, small, easy to mount package," said Ken Humphreys, Aperion's Lead Audio Speaker Engineer.

Kanex Debuts Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter with Audio

Brea, CA (PRWEB) July 8, 2009

Apogee Inc., manufacturer of AV and computer related products, is debuting the long awaited Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter with audio. The new adapter will join the Kanex family which includes a full line of Mini DisplayPort adapters for DVI, VGA and HDMI. With this new adapter, the newer MacBooks with mini DisplayPorts can now easily be connected to an HD source and have analog audio be outputted through the adapter.

There was a mixture of opinions for the first Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter without audio. Some liked it since they didn't require the audio with their application. Other MacBook users criticized the original adapter for the inconvenience of not having the option to have audio output. Customers complained about the pain of having to use multiple cables along with the adapter, such as a 3.5mm to RCA cable, in order to output audio from their MacBooks. Other customers also had problems with certain HDTV models ignoring all other audio outputs when an HDMI is plugged in. As a result, these customers had to route a separate audio system with their HDTV. Due to these problems, the adapters were developed as one adapter solution to display both audio and video.

Since HDMI is able to support both audio and video, users wondered why it wasn't possible to have the option of having audio come out the Mini DisplayPort adapter as well. The new adapters will be able to output analog audio signals through the USB port from the MacBooks. USB audio was integrated into the adapter with HDMI output to allow the audio pass through. Two USB 2.0 ports are also conveniently located next to the Mini DisplayPort which allows easy access to plug both cables in

The new adapter still has the same specifications as its predecessor as it still will be version 1.3b and support resolutions of up to 1080p. The adapter also looks similar to the current Mini DisplayPort to HDMI. The significant difference for the adapter will be the extra USB cable next to the Mini DisplayPort cable. The new adapter also supports uncompressed audio such as LPCM.

The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapters with audio are planning to be released by August 2009. More product information and product availability will be available soon.
